Advent and Christmas Themed Study Inspiration (Organized By Subject)

I wonder if you feel the same way I do about Christmas break…

Our family chooses to not “break” for Christmas every year, per se, but rather put attention and focus on the advent season while still recognizing and putting into practice academic skills and abilities. It is our vision that how we live is an ongoing learning experience that can point to knowing more about our God and everything and everyone He created.

Not to mention, being a homeschool family of a few small children, disrupting our regular (albeit seasonal) routines too much can be somewhat destructive in the behaviors of not only my children but of myself! We all tend to get on each other’s nerves a bit more and hyper fixate on specific things instead of being well balanced in all areas of our life experiences.

Hence, I do my best to be intentional and disciplined with coming up with “teaching” opportunities for even the fun and restful seasons that will engage the hearts and minds of our whole family and help solidify some of the academic subjects with real life experiences!

I ask you- *Do* you feel the same way? Or perhaps you want to see how some of the traditional things you already do during your “Christmas break” are, in fact, tied to many subjects of schooling?

Regardless, these lists of Christmas and Advent activity ideas that I have curated and organized by academic subject (10 total!) can be an inspiration to you and your family as you celebrate Christ coming as King. All the while you will also be fostering a joy of learning amidst the wonderful traditions we hold during the lovely “Christmas break” season.
