Learn to Read and Write a Phonics Approach to Reading Level 3
Learn to Read and Write Level 3 is the third book in a course series and a curriculum workbook for the second to fourth grade students depending on reading level. Learn to Read and Write Level 1 and Level 2 are the other two books in the series.
This is a full course, all-in-one, language arts curriculum, with everything you need to complete the full course. Nothing extra is needed.
This is a PDF digital file that is 492 pages long.
The course begins with a review of words with prefix or suffixes: ance, ence, re, de, ify, fy, and ment. Then there are lessons on words with suffixes, prefixes or phonics sounds: ex, ly, ie, ei, harder words with tion and sion, ness, less, ate, ic, ive, non, dis, sub, cial, tial, inter, out, ious, ism. That covers the first 24 weeks of lesson with phonics word list.
For the final 8 weeks, the course covers writing topics and really delves in to how to write more than a couple of sentences. The writing topics covered are: paragraph writing, letter writing, opinion writing, personal narrative, research writing, and poetry writing.
During those 8 weeks, lists of hard to read words are available to read. This book also contains daily spelling lessons, daily reading passages, speed or timed reading, weekly grammar and punctuation lessons as well as daily grammar review activities.
Before starting this course, the student should be able to read fluently at a second grade level and write complete sentences that begin with a capital letter and end with a period, question mark, or exclamation point. By the end of this course, it is expected that student will be able to read chapter books without assistances and be able to write paragraphs, and short essays or reports.
