How to Use: 

1. Counting:

- Place a number flashcard on the worksheet. - Have the child place ocean animal pieces in each square, one by one. - They should count aloud as they fill in the boxes. - This shows how numbers build up to ten. 

2. Subitizing (Instantly Seeing Quantities):

- After placing the ocean animal pieces, ask the child how many they see without counting. This helps them recognize numbers visually. 

3. Making Ten:

- Show how a partially filled ten frame can be “completed” to make ten. - For example, if there are 7 ocean animal pieces, ask the child how many more are needed to fill the ten frame. 

4. Addition:

- Use two ten frames or a partially filled one to show how numbers combine. For example, if you place 6 ocean animal pieces and then add 3 more, the child can easily see how 6 + 3 = 9 by counting the pieces. 

5. Subtraction:

- Start with a full ten frame, then remove ocean animal pieces to demonstrate subtraction. For example, start with 10 and take away 4 pieces to show that 10 - 4 = 6.
