This quarter takes students on a thrilling journey through the universe, blending hands-on science exploration with creative expression and faith-based learning. Covering all core subjects, the lessons are designed to ignite curiosity about space while fostering a well-rounded education.
Core Subjects Overview:
Science (Space Exploration Focus)
Students will study the solar system, planets, stars, galaxies, and more! Using Holst's journey from quarter 1, this quarter is sure to delight!
Math
Lessons are based in the Montessori method with lots of opportunities to use hands on methods of learning addition and subtraction.
Language Arts
Learners will dive into the public domain book, Peter Pan while exploring letters in handwriting, poems, morning basket books to read, and so much more!
Social Studies
This subject focuses on various inventors from history past including Robert Fulton, Peter Cooper, Eli Whitney, and more! Learners will also have handicrafts related to these inventors available for them to achieve throughout the quarter.
Additional Components:
Bible Verses & Catechisms
Each week, learners memorize a Bible verse related to wonder, creation, and God’s power over the universe (e.g., Psalm 33:6 and Gen. 1:1). Catechisms explore God, the Lord's Supper, and many other fun ways to memorize about who God is and all about Him.
Poems
Poems about the night sky, stars, wind, and the vastness of space are featured.
Handicrafts
Hands-on projects include making felt solar systems, morse code bracelets, and more!
Recipes
Themed recipes such as “Cosmic Cupcakes”, “Star Shaped Fruit Kabobs”, and “Meteor Meatballs” are included to make learning fun and interactive.
